A must for all Princess Diaries fans, and anyone who loves a good and funny happy ending. Let this not be the last we hear of Princess Mia!

Princess Mia Thermopolis is finally engaged! Except how do you go about planning a wedding when there’s press outside your apartment, a royal stalker is trying to get to you online, your dad has been arrested for speeding, and your grandmother has ‘leaked’ fake wedding plans to the papers?
This is not even half of what happens in this book!
I read Meg Cabot’s Princess Diaries series growing up and was extremely excited to get an advanced copy. I am glad that we finally get to see ‘the epilogue’ to Mia’s life, and to see how she gets on after college. Cabot knows her audience and is able to tie up all the loose ends and find a part for everyone in Mia’s life. Her grandmother is still crazy, her cat is still fat (I’m so glad he’s still alive!), her best friend is still a super woman, and Mia has her shit together — There’s hope for us all! — but is continually challenged on all sides by the people in her life. (This is very familiar to me.)
The strength of this series has been that, no matter what, Mia is relatable, even if we don’t all have bodyguards and limousines. This book is no exception. Mia’s diary entries are full of inward screams and trying to do the right thing while figuring out how to balance her life with humour and grace or, at least, attempted grace. It’s what everyone does. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the many laugh out loud moments it provided me on public transport. (Never mind anyone who stared.)
If you have not read the Princess Diaries or seen the movies, parts of this book might not make as much sense, but it will still be funny and very, very modern, chock-full of pop culture references.
